2010 NW Wed Pro Bridal Fair

NW Wed Pro is excited to announce the 2010 Bridal Fair. Presented by NW Wed Pro, hosted at Willamette Valley Country Club and promotional contributions by Wedding Workbook!

Mark your calendar for February 6th AND 7th of 2010. Two days of fabulous wedding professionals, all under one beautiful roof in the banquet facilities of Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby, Oregon.

This is a Bridal Fair that you won't want to miss. If you've ever attend a Bridal Show at the Expo or convention center, you know how impersonal, crowded and overwhelming it can be. Vendors pay thousands of dollars for those booths and recoup it by charging higher fees for weddings.

NOT so with the NW Wed Pro Bridal Fair.

Enjoy your time, take in the wonderful views, stop and visit with the professionals while viewing samples of their work. With wine tasting, catering samples, "how-to" demonstrations, makeovers and fabulous prizes and drawings, you'll want to spend your day here. The vendors don't have to pay high booth fees, so those savings are reflected in their prices.

Your admission to the show is only $2. All proceeds will be donated to Clackamas Women's Services!
So SAVE THE DATE of Feb 6&7, then check back for more details soon to come.

Holy Names, Batman!!!

That is what Robin would say if he saw this venue. J Holy Names Heritage Center was the beautiful setting of this month’s NW Wed Pro meeting.

Hello NW Wed Pro’s!

We had an great meeting this month at a little known wedding venue. The Heritage Center was built 2 years ago, yet it has the exterior look and feel of the 100 year old buildings on the campus. Beautiful architecture, state of the art design, water features and gardens, high ceilings, natural light and a great floor plan. Their new website pages to promote them as a wedding venue is coming soon!

We had a great turnout for this meeting. Thank you all! A quick recap of the meeting:

Registering at the door and entering business cards in the basket for door prize drawings.
Food table provided by NWWP had 6 kinds of specialty cheeses, crackers, fruit, sourdough, hummus, ham and cookies.
Wine selections were offered by Tara of St. Josef’s Winery.
Musical entertainment provided by Linda Smith of Notes of Celebration.
Jewelry display by Lea McWhorter of Sophisticated Beads who makes custom bridal party jewelry.

NWWP Chairperson, Beverly Mason, then spoke to the group about website optimization and link sharing. She also encouraged everyone to take advantage of the affordable and most often FREE printing of Vista Print and showed the NW Wed Pro cards, postcards, logo, posters and banners that were from Vista Print. We heard from vendors who recently had tables at Bridal Fairs around the region. The group discussed the idea of holding a NW Wed Pro Bridal Fair in the near future. $$dollar bills were given out in the game “It Pays to Refer to NW Wed Pro members”. Lots of referrals were given within the group last month.

Door Prize drawings were a leather business card portfolio that displays 75 cards for easy reference, a canvas NW Wedding Professionals tote bag, and a small personal size leather business card holder. Three winners were drawn from the basket.

Featured vendors were given a few minutes each to talk about their products, services and venues, then everyone else introduced themselves to the group.
Wrapping up the evening was enough time to visit and exchange cards with other wedding professionals.
If you have never attended one of these meetings, you are definitely missing out. Please come next month.

Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom NW Wed Pro meeting recap

Hello NW Wed Pro’s!!!

Talk about an incredible meeting Monday night. This was one meeting NOT to be missed. NWWP met at the Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom Monday September 14th for their monthly meeting. The venue is beautiful. The ballrooms include over 10,000 square feet of space with a capacity of 490 people. They also teach ballroom dancing and give lessons. Michelle and Chris Small set up the room perfectly for our event.
Portland Catering Company provided delicious salad, meats an a decadent dessert of fresh made tiramisu. Heavenly!
Kelcema Productions shared his music and talents with the group and told us a little background about the company and origin of it’s name.

Our guest presenter was the Portland Wedding Workbook team. Four representatives of the company came to the meeting to answer all of our questions. This was a very exciting presentation. This was the first viewing of the brand new publication, plus, NINE NW Wed Pro members are featured in it with full page ads; Sophisticated Beads, The Aussie DJ, Floral Sunshine, Radiant Touch, Absolutely Only, Aaronstadt, Ainsworth House, Bell Tower Chapel and Gray Gables. Since the workbook only allows for four vendors in each category, this is a VERY strong showing for the group. View the online preview and look at our ads. http://www.uniflip.com/catalogs2/12210/21328/pub/index.html

The exciting part of the presentation was the offer of an “Affiliate Program”. By placing a banner ad on your website, you can make $10 for each book ordered through your banner ad. It’s as easy as that. Also, using our own banner to purchase books, we can buy them at a significantly reduced price (compared to the retail price) and offer them to our clients as an incentive.

Also, every single book has a travel certificate for a 7 day Carnival Cruise for 2 or airfare and 2 nts hotel to Cancun, or 7 nights hotel in Hawaii, or 7 nights hotel in Paris! Now how can you beat that????? Anyone can use it, not just brides and grooms!

So check out the affiliate page at https://www.mywebetools.com/seattlewedding/users/main.php
Sign up, be sure to choose paypal or check for your method of receiving payments. After your account is set up click on view products, select type of ad (banner or text) and scroll down past the Seattle banners till you see the variety of Portland ones. Copy and paste the code into pages of your website. You earn money for every book purchased through your banner. It’s as easy as that. You can also see the banners or purchase through them on our website at http://www.nwwedpro.com/
I noticed that some of the other members already had them up and running on their sites by this morning. I added a banner to 4 different pages on my http://www.theradianttouch.com/ site.

To top off a wonderful evening, we had TWO drawings at the meeting. Tiny impressions Photography won a leather portfolio. Then Portland Wedding Workbook team had me pick a number between 1 and 48. I chose 17. We were then told to look under our chairs for a number. A new member to the group, Trina Connolly-Fairchild of Ceremonies for Life had the winning number. She won Airfare and 2 nights hotel for two, to Cancun Mexico!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a wonderful turn out for the meeting. 31 people were in attendance representing the following companies:

Rose City Mobile Music, Portland Wedding Workbook, Sophisticated Beads, Kelcema Productions, Adventure Weddings NW, Big Screen Presentations, Paradise Photography, Ceremonies for Life, Blissfully Yours, Tiny Impressions Photography, CL Steele Photography, Sarah Galbraith Photography, Absolutely Only, The Aussie DJ, Angela at Devine Studio, Daellas, Portland Catering Company, Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom, Cedar Springs Country Estate / CS Country Weddings, Floral Sunshine, Canby Wedding Chapel and Northwest Wedding Coordinators.

Thank you EVERYONE, for making it an incredible evening.

September 2009 NWWP Network

Hello NW Wedding Professionals!

Another month of 2009 wedding season has come and gone. August was a crazy month, wasn’t it? For some reason though, 2009 season seems to go right up through the end of September and into October this year. Keeping my fingers crossed for plenty more good weather. It was certainly a bit dicey this weekend. Torrential downpours and outdoor weddings keep everyone hopping.

August weddings took me to some of the most wonderful wedding venues and introduced me to so many wedding professionals. As mentioned in an earlier email, I was at The Royal Oaks Country Club, The Ainsworth House, The Aerie at Eagle landing, Canby Flower Farm, The Kelty House and The Broetje House. Every venue was very professional, courteous and beautiful.

August 22nd took me back up to Washington again for a wedding at The Fairgate Inn. Seeing the word “Inn” and “B&B” always brings to mind visions of quaint, small and cozy. Well, this place is certainly NOT that. The Fairgate Inn is the most grand estate I’ve ever seen. It looks like The White House in Washington DC! It is so elegant, spacious, and perfect for weddings. The banquet room is very large, the outdoor garden is perfect for the ceremony and the staff is wonderful. It was great working with Mike Moore of Big Screen presentations again as DJ and MC.

That same day I had a wedding at Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby. Another very nice venue in Clackamas County in a beautiful wooded setting, surrounded by a golf course. Rick, of Shadow Master photography did a wonderful job of capturing every moment. Shane, of Hurricane DJ provided music for the entire event.

Ok, I could go on and on about all of the wonderful venues and vendors but there are just too many to mention. So, just one last shout out to Anthony Wedin of Sound Choice entertainment for a wonderful job done at Edgefield, to Jonathan of Voila Catering (incredible food as usual) and to Amanda of Pretty in Portland. Thank you all for providing wonderful service at weddings this month. Great working with you all again.

Now on to new business. The next NW Wed Pro NWWP Network meeting is less than one week away! It is on a Monday this time.

Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom
September 14th 2009 6-8pm
$10

Please RSVP so that the venue can prepare the room to meet our needs.

There are TWO featured vendor tables still available.
Portland Wedding Workbook will be presenting.
Door Prizes
Appetizers and refreshments

Now is the time to be networking and building your referrals with other professionals. We are all busy booking for 2010 and can be giving our brides some great referrals for all of their wedding needs.

Looking forward to seeing you next week! Invite other professionals that you meet too!

NWWP at The Broetje House

Hello NW Wed Pro’s!

I hope that you are all having a wonderful weekend. The cooler temperature is perfect for our weddings this weekend!

Thank you to all of the people who attended Wednesday night’s meeting at The Broetje house. It was a very fun meeting. Here is a recap of the evening.

Lorraine, of The Broetje House, set up a beautiful space for us in the Conservatory. The A/C was greatly appreciated on that 90 degree day.

Our featured vendor tables were presented by Buenger Photography, His Bakery and Whiskey Creek Outfitters.
Buenger Photography displayed her talents in video, framed prints and also an incredible Italian crafted Wedding Album.
Whiskey Creek Outfitters couldn’t exactly bring the horse and carriage, but she displayed framed prints of her massive and beautiful black horse and the carriage. Some photos showed the bride sitting on the actual horse!
His Bakery provided us with samples of three different wedding cakes. These were delicious!

Food and beverages were provided this month by NWWP Network.

We opened the meeting with a discussion of building portfolio photo books. Portfolio’s are important for ALL vendor services. They are classy, elegant and sophisticated to show floral, cakes, venues and all other services. They are affordable and easy to make. In fact, Shutterfly and Photoworks are giving 20% off photo books. Give it a try! What have you got to lose?

The money game “It Pays To Be a NW Wed Pro” paid out a lot of dollar bills to anyone who gave a referral to someone in the group and to anyone who brought a guest to the group.

Our door prize winner was Mel O’Brien of Absolutely Only Photography. He won a leather bound planner. Congratulations Mel!

Rob Patton of “Enter The Net” spoke to the group on SEO (search engine optimization) and answered questions to everyone.
George of Awesome Wines brought his 1927 Chevrolet for us to view. He offers it for weddings, receptions and photo shoots.

After round robin introductions were done, we had plenty of time to visit with each other, exchange cards and information and also stroll the beautiful grounds around The Broetje House.

Thank you to the following people who made it an exceptional event!

Floral Sunshine, His Bakery, Buenger Photography, Awesome Wines Co, Lyneil Vandermolen, Noryne Robinson, Whiskey Creek Outfitters, Notes of Celebration, Kelcema Productions, Sara Gray Photography, Paradise Photography, Tiny Impressions Photography, Heather Scott Photographic, Snapdragon Studio flowers, Fliptography, Seriouscake.com, Absolutely Only Photography, Duo con Brio, Enter The Net, The Broetje House, The Radiant Touch.
Our next meeting is on a Monday. September 14, 2009 6pm-8pm at Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom

If you’d like to attend or be a featured vendor, please rsvp by emailing to radianttouch@ccwebster.net

In October we meet on Wed. October 14, 2009 6pm-8pm at Holy Names Heritage Center in Lake Oswego.

The next few months is when most vendors are holding consultations and bookings for Summer 2010. Be sure to refer every bride to NW Wed Pro for all of their other needs. Attend the monthly meetings so that your company is sure to be listed on NW Wed Pro.

I look forward to seeing in Oregon City in September!

Sun Connections Travel provided us with extra door prize give a ways. Thank You!

NWWP Network meetings of the NW Wed Pro's

Hello to all of you NW Wed Pro’s! Have you survived the weekend so far? I hope that you are all swamped with weddings.
I had the most wonderful weekend working with some of the best wedding professionals in the area. I want to share with you some of the highlights.

Thursday evening I had the pleasure of performing a wedding at Bell Tower Chapel in Boring, Oregon. It was an outdoor ceremony in extreme heat but the huge, ancient oak tree provide shade to 100 people. The bride looked absolutely stunning, thanks to the work of hair and make-up artist Amanda Florio Everly of Pretty In Portland. The bride was also extremely happy with the cake that Melissa of Sweet Cakes created from the design and fabric swatches that the bride had provided her with. I also got to tasted the wonderful BBQ feast provided by Smokin Jim’s Bar-B-Que. Yummy. DJ services by Steve Strain of Rose City Mobile music kept everyone entertained.

Friday evening I had the honor of performing at The Bell Tower chapel yet again. This ceremony was held indoors and we were all very appreciative of the NEW air conditioning system that had recently been installed.

Saturday morning I was happy to perform at the Oaks Pioneer Church and have a chance to see the wonderful ladies that coordinate the venue.

Saturday afternoon was The Best Wedding Ever! It was my first time at The Holy Names Heritage Center in Lake Oswego. What a fantastic venue! The layout is perfect. I was also very happy to arrive and see the van from SeriousCake.com! I had just met Seri at our last networking meeting and now I got to see her in action. The cake was beautiful and it was no easy task in this hot weather. The best part was the groom’s cake. She created from sugar, a bow tie wearing- penguin band, complete with instruments and everything, to top the cake. (the groom is a musician and composer). Everyone praised the floral arrangements provided by Jennifer at Forte Floral. The bride and groom thanked me profusely for referring Jennifer to them. They loved her! The table centerpiece arrangements and the cocktail room centerpiece were simply amazing! I also had the pleasure of meeting Sue of Purple Iris Weddings as coordinator and planner, the DJ from Taylor Events, Jonathan of Voila Catering and Chris of CL Steele photography. Everyone worked so well together that the event ran perfectly smooth. Great job everyone!

Kudos to all of the wedding pro’s that I worked with this weekend. Your hard work and great service made the wedding couple’s Dream Wedding Day come true!

I hope to see everyone at the next NWWP Networking meeting in August on the 19th at The Broetje House in Milwaukie. We have three featured vendors lined up already so we only have room for one more. Any caterers or wineries want to snatch it up??? We all LOVE what YOU bring! J

I’m working on getting us a great guest speaker too for the educational portion of the night.
Don’t forget to r.s.v.p. August NWWP meeting if you are planning to attend.
Thanks! Have a great week.
