Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom NW Wed Pro meeting recap

Hello NW Wed Pro’s!!!
Talk about an incredible meeting Monday night. This was one meeting NOT to be missed. NWWP met at the Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom Monday September 14th for their monthly meeting. The venue is beautiful. The ballrooms include over 10,000 square feet of space with a capacity of 490 people. They also teach ballroom dancing and give lessons. Michelle and Chris Small set up the room perfectly for our event.
Portland Catering Company provided delicious salad, meats an a decadent dessert of fresh made tiramisu. Heavenly!
Kelcema Productions shared his music and talents with the group and told us a little background about the company and origin of it’s name.
Our guest presenter was the Portland Wedding Workbook team. Four representatives of the company came to the meeting to answer all of our questions. This was a very exciting presentation. This was the first viewing of the brand new publication, plus, NINE NW Wed Pro members are featured in it with full page ads; Sophisticated Beads, The Aussie DJ, Floral Sunshine, Radiant Touch, Absolutely Only, Aaronstadt, Ainsworth House, Bell Tower Chapel and Gray Gables. Since the workbook only allows for four vendors in each category, this is a VERY strong showing for the group. View the online preview and look at our ads. http://www.uniflip.com/catalogs2/12210/21328/pub/index.html
The exciting part of the presentation was the offer of an “Affiliate Program”. By placing a banner ad on your website, you can make $10 for each book ordered through your banner ad. It’s as easy as that. Also, using our own banner to purchase books, we can buy them at a significantly reduced price (compared to the retail price) and offer them to our clients as an incentive.
Also, every single book has a travel certificate for a 7 day Carnival Cruise for 2 or airfare and 2 nts hotel to Cancun, or 7 nights hotel in Hawaii, or 7 nights hotel in Paris! Now how can you beat that????? Anyone can use it, not just brides and grooms!
So check out the affiliate page at https://www.mywebetools.com/seattlewedding/users/main.php
Sign up, be sure to choose paypal or check for your method of receiving payments. After your account is set up click on view products, select type of ad (banner or text) and scroll down past the Seattle banners till you see the variety of Portland ones. Copy and paste the code into pages of your website. You earn money for every book purchased through your banner. It’s as easy as that. You can also see the banners or purchase through them on our website at http://www.nwwedpro.com/
I noticed that some of the other members already had them up and running on their sites by this morning. I added a banner to 4 different pages on my http://www.theradianttouch.com/ site.
To top off a wonderful evening, we had TWO drawings at the meeting. Tiny impressions Photography won a leather portfolio. Then Portland Wedding Workbook team had me pick a number between 1 and 48. I chose 17. We were then told to look under our chairs for a number. A new member to the group, Trina Connolly-Fairchild of Ceremonies for Life had the winning number. She won Airfare and 2 nights hotel for two, to Cancun Mexico!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had a wonderful turn out for the meeting. 31 people were in attendance representing the following companies:
Rose City Mobile Music, Portland Wedding Workbook, Sophisticated Beads, Kelcema Productions, Adventure Weddings NW, Big Screen Presentations, Paradise Photography, Ceremonies for Life, Blissfully Yours, Tiny Impressions Photography, CL Steele Photography, Sarah Galbraith Photography, Absolutely Only, The Aussie DJ, Angela at Devine Studio, Daellas, Portland Catering Company, Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom, Cedar Springs Country Estate / CS Country Weddings, Floral Sunshine, Canby Wedding Chapel and Northwest Wedding Coordinators.
Thank you EVERYONE, for making it an incredible evening.

September 2009 NWWP Network

Hello NW Wedding Professionals!
Another month of 2009 wedding season has come and gone. August was a crazy month, wasn’t it? For some reason though, 2009 season seems to go right up through the end of September and into October this year. Keeping my fingers crossed for plenty more good weather. It was certainly a bit dicey this weekend. Torrential downpours and outdoor weddings keep everyone hopping.
August weddings took me to some of the most wonderful wedding venues and introduced me to so many wedding professionals. As mentioned in an earlier email, I was at The Royal Oaks Country Club, The Ainsworth House, The Aerie at Eagle landing, Canby Flower Farm, The Kelty House and The Broetje House. Every venue was very professional, courteous and beautiful.
August 22nd took me back up to Washington again for a wedding at The Fairgate Inn. Seeing the word “Inn” and “B&B” always brings to mind visions of quaint, small and cozy. Well, this place is certainly NOT that. The Fairgate Inn is the most grand estate I’ve ever seen. It looks like The White House in Washington DC! It is so elegant, spacious, and perfect for weddings. The banquet room is very large, the outdoor garden is perfect for the ceremony and the staff is wonderful. It was great working with Mike Moore of Big Screen presentations again as DJ and MC.
That same day I had a wedding at Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby. Another very nice venue in Clackamas County in a beautiful wooded setting, surrounded by a golf course. Rick, of Shadow Master photography did a wonderful job of capturing every moment. Shane, of Hurricane DJ provided music for the entire event.
Ok, I could go on and on about all of the wonderful venues and vendors but there are just too many to mention. So, just one last shout out to Anthony Wedin of Sound Choice entertainment for a wonderful job done at Edgefield, to Jonathan of Voila Catering (incredible food as usual) and to Amanda of Pretty in Portland. Thank you all for providing wonderful service at weddings this month. Great working with you all again.
Now on to new business. The next NW Wed Pro NWWP Network meeting is less than one week away! It is on a Monday this time.
Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom

NWWP at The Broetje House
Hello NW Wed Pro’s!
I hope that you are all having a wonderful weekend. The cooler temperature is perfect for our weddings this weekend!
Thank you to all of the people who attended Wednesday night’s meeting at The Broetje house. It was a very fun meeting. Here is a recap of the evening.
Lorraine, of The Broetje House, set up a beautiful space for us in the Conservatory. The A/C was greatly appreciated on that 90 degree day.
Our featured vendor tables were presented by Buenger Photography, His Bakery and Whiskey Creek Outfitters.
Buenger Photography displayed her talents in video, framed prints and also an incredible Italian crafted Wedding Album.
Whiskey Creek Outfitters couldn’t exactly bring the horse and carriage, but she displayed framed prints of her massive and beautiful black horse and the carriage. Some photos showed the bride sitting on the actual horse!
His Bakery provided us with samples of three different wedding cakes. These were delicious!
Food and beverages were provided this month by NWWP Network.
We opened the meeting with a discussion of building portfolio photo books. Portfolio’s are important for ALL vendor services. They are classy, elegant and sophisticated to show floral, cakes, venues and all other services. They are affordable and easy to make. In fact, Shutterfly and Photoworks are giving 20% off photo books. Give it a try! What have you got to lose?
The money game “It Pays To Be a NW Wed Pro” paid out a lot of dollar bills to anyone who gave a referral to someone in the group and to anyone who brought a guest to the group.
Our door prize winner was Mel O’Brien of Absolutely Only Photography. He won a leather bound planner. Congratulations Mel!
Rob Patton of “Enter The Net” spoke to the group on SEO (search engine optimization) and answered questions to everyone.
George of Awesome Wines brought his 1927 Chevrolet for us to view. He offers it for weddings, receptions and photo shoots.
After round robin introductions were done, we had plenty of time to visit with each other, exchange cards and information and also stroll the beautiful grounds around The Broetje House.

Happy Monday to all of you NW Wedding Pro’s!
I’d say the hot August weather is definitely back! We had some pretty comfortable temperatures for this weekend’s weddings, didn’t we?
I had the privilege of performing weddings at The Aerie at Eagle Landing, Union Hills, Canby Flower Farmers and also the historic Kelty House. All of them were beautiful locations with very friendly staff and owners.
