Wed Pro at Weddings on The Hill

Hello NW Wed Pro!

 

How many of you are still hip-deep in weddings?!?! It doesn’t seem to be slowing down. LOVE IT!!

Hopefully today, being a Monday, you are able to slow down a bit and enjoy this recap of last week’s NW Wed Pro Networking Event.

Wednesday, September 10^th, we met at Weddings On The Hill in West Linn. It was a beautiful evening for an outdoor event. The hosts of Weddings on the Hill, Chris & Cindy Nylen, went all out for this event. Fresh flowers, beautiful tables and chivari chairs, fresh flower arrangements, live music… the works.

We were so privileged to have Premiere Catering Inc at this event. They never disappoint. Premiere Catering brings a full staff to take care of every need. The dinner buffet was truly a masterpiece to look at and for savoring every bite. From salads and fresh fruits, cheeses and veggies, to sides and fresh cooked entrée’s prepared right there at the buffet. The smell of garlic cooking was heavenly. J Premiere Catering also treated NW Wed Pros to  wine and beer service, complete with a friendly bartender. Their staff was always on top of everything.  We are so thankful for Premiere Catering and their wonderful staff. The next time a bride is looking for a caterer, be sure to give her Premiere’s information and a glowing review. 

The fabulous dinner was topped off with desserts by Cookies, Cupcakes & More. They make the BEST cupcakes EVER! Thank you Rick & Barb for being a member of our NW Wed Pro family these past years. We love you both!

Another thank you goes out to Flowers by Diana, for the beautiful flower arrangements, and to Maria Olaya on guitar, the music was the perfect touch for the evening. Thank you Barclay Events for contributing, and Men’s Warehouse too! 

Many beautiful changes have been made to Wedding On The Hill this year thanks to the hard work, planning and donations of their Board Members and benefactors. We were honored to have them attend this event and enjoy a great dinner and evening. 

We had many first time visitors to this meeting and we hope to see them at future meetings and events. We appreciate that so many of you have been inviting other wedding professionals to attend our networking events. Welcome Buxton Design Studio, Oregon Wedding Showcase, Shauna Brooks Officiant, Mon Cheri Antiques & Vintage Collectibles, Port of Call Catering, Black Rock BBQ, Bartending by Michael and Men’s Wearhouse (Clackamas). Last month was a great networking event at The Tumwater Room in Oregon City. The venue hosted us with beautiful décor, linens, flowers, china and crystal PLUS catered a full dinner by Alimenti Catering. The view of the Willamette Falls and the setting sun was perfection. Thank you so much to Darrell and Natasha for a wonderful Networking Event. The educational topic was “12 Steps to Maximizing Your Online Presence”. Referral Dollars were also handed out to people who referred other members during the month and a $20 Door Prize was won.
Thank you JaLove Designs for featuring your yummy cupcakes and desserts. Thank you Stacey of Flowers & Stuff for the lovely floral arrangement on the buffet table.
Even with 5 “day-of” cancellations due to illness, we had a great turnout with 29 wedding professionals.

Thank you everyone for making NW Wed Pro what it is. This Network just keeps growing and growing. The collaborations and partnerships that have formed from attending the monthly meetings are just amazing. YOU are what makes this group a success.

Do you know of a good guest speaker that would be interested in speaking at an upcoming meeting? Please give me your suggestions. Is there a topic that you would like to be covered?
Are you interested in having one of our meetings be another workshop where we bring our laptops and help each other go through the steps of online pages such as Pinterest, Facebook, Google+ and linking? We could break into groups and have a table for each topic and be facilitated by a teacher. It would need to be a venue that has Wifi.

Last Month:

NW Wed Pro had its first Workshop for members. It was February 20^th, hosted by The Tumwater Room and coordinated by Scott & Nina Roberts. We had a great turnout. Everyone brought their own laptops and we all worked together learning and perfecting our Social Media skills. We worked on Facebook Business pages, Pinterest and how to add icons and links between our social media pages, website and blogs. Future workshops will be announced as they get planned.

Weddings on the Hill

NW Wed Pro Networking Association will be meeting at Weddings on the Hill in West Linn.
This is at the Unity Center on Willamette Drive / Highway 43.

This will be a fantastic networking meeting. The line up will include:

• Two Chicks & A Rooster Catering Co.
• Tigard Wine Crafters
• Michelle Brubaker - guest educational Marketing speaker

Weddings on the Hill is a little known secret of a wedding venue. It features a beautiful outdoor ceremony setting, indoor ceremony / reception hall, recreation rooms and parlor, 2 kitchens and 2 parking lots. Endless photo opportunities on the grounds and also across the road in Mary S Young Park.

NW Wed Pros will meet for an evening of networking, learning, dining and connecting. Most have never been to Weddings on the Hill and they will be in for a real treat.
