Discovering the NEW Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom

February is quite the busy month for many of you. Bridal Shows, Networking Events, Consultations and Fund Raising going on all over the place.

NW Wed Pro’s got a networking fix on February 8th at The Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom in Oregon City. If you haven’t seen the changes and updates that have been done to this venue, then you should find an opportunity to do so.

Wed Pro’s had a fun and informative opportunity to not only tour the venue (new bridal changing suite, new wood floors, new paint, new décor) but also be treated to a great dinner by Portland Catering Company with wines from St. Josef’s Vineyard and dessert by Flutterby Bakery. The dessert table display was staged by Barclay Events. Thank you Linda!
Another featured vendor was Nick Curtman of Resolution Photography who introduced us to his new business partnership with The Portland Booth photo booth company. We were treated to fun props and free photos in the booth.

The subject of the meeting was “Taking Networking to the Next Level”, presented by Beverly Mason. Ideas and suggestions of collaborations, partnerships, inspirational shoots, retail space sharing and much more was discussed.

Asparro Video is offering a great rate to NW Wed Pro’s to tape and produce a vendor spotlight
video for your business. Contact Jim with inquiries. Numerous NW Wed Pro’s will be featured on the “Expert Panel” at the Plan Your Wedding Workshop on February 18th, held at the West End Ballroom. Later that evening ALL of you are invited to Oregon City for the 1st Annual Mardi Gras on Main Street celebration, brought to you by Willow Designs by Xavier in partnership with participating nightclubs like Cypress OC, Verdict Bar & Grill, 505 Tavern & Trails End Saloon. Get your sequins on, come out for some fun and collect as many beads as possible for some great prizes. Destinations Unknown will be featuring their party bus. Catch a ride to your next stop
on Main Street. Get your masks in advance at Willow Designs by Xavier at 12th & Washington Street in Oregon City, which is also the new home of Radiant Touch Weddings!!

Submit your upcoming events to be listed on http://www.nwwedpro.com/FairsEvents.html

Thank you to the following Vendors that attended in February:

Networking at Aurora Colony Vineyards

Hello NW Wed Pro’s!

Are you loving this beautiful weather?? The cooler temps and scattered clouds have been perfect this weekend. I hope you are all having a busy wedding weekend.

Last Tuesday, we met at a beautiful venue for our monthly networking event. Aurora Colony Vineyards is amazing! The grounds, the views, the buildings… everything is unique and designed for the perfect wedding.

Our featured vendors offered up some great treats and deals.

Portland Wedding Workbook presented all of the great opportunities that they offer to wedding professionals including a full page ad in the workbook, website links, pod casts, email blasts, bridal leads and much more.

Portland Wedding Workbook has extended a huge savings to us through August 15th for an advertising package with them. It includes a LOT of features along with the full page book ad. Deadline is 8-15 and the 2012 book debuts at the October Portland Bridal Show!

Here is what you do:

get a 55% exclusive discount until the 15th of August just for being a loyal member of NW Wed Pro. Not quite as good a deal as offered at the meeting on Tuesday but you can still get an exclusive deal for being a part of the group. Here are the steps to take to sign up:

1. Go to www.portlandweddingworkbook.com/vendors.htm

2. Click on “SIGN UP NOW” at the bottom.

3. When the contract pulls up, scroll down to the middle of it where it asks for “Cost”. Click the “special discount” button.

4. When it asks for a coupon code enter NWWEDPRO299.

The price for our group is $249.00 plus a $50.00 design and set-up fee = $299.00. If you were at the meeting on Tuesday you could have gotten it for $245 TOTAL including the design fee!

THIS IS A 55% SAVINGS!!! The design fee is totally worth it. They are fabulous! Remember, only 4 vendors from each category will be accepted for the BOOK.

Another FEATURED VENDOR at the meeting was Lisa Wentworth of FROST. She presented us with delicious mini-cupcakes in some very unique flavors. Lisa is a talented pastry chef and baker but she is also the friendliest person you could ever meet. LIKE her/FROST on Facebook.

The event also featured Lady Wentworth Distribution. Lisa Wentworth brought a variety of things to her table, including Sorella Luna Italian ceramics, custom made tiaras and jewelry imported from England, wine for tasting and a variety of vintage and designer dresses.

This month’s educational portion was presented by myself. The focus was on “After The Marketing”. Once the customers find you, then it’s all on performance, presentation and perception. A survey of questions was handed out and each table worked in groups coming up with answers. The results will shed some light on what other professionals see at weddings that could help you provide better service. These results are only going to be shared with those in attendance last week though. Should have been there. J

Be sure to join us in September for the next networking event.

Hello NW Wed Pro’s!

Thank you again to all of you who were able to attend the networking event last Wednesday, July 20th. It was our biggest turnout ever. For those that couldn’t make it, I will recap the event.

The Ainsworth House & Gardens

NWWP Network provided complimentary wine for the evening, but didn’t have a server. Thankfully Shannon of GG’s Deli & Catering volunteered to be the server for the evening. She must have poured at least 10 bottles of wine! And what better way to mingle and eat than be accompanied by the melodious sounds of Notes of Celebration?! Linda Smith played the piano in the Fireplace room during the cocktail hour.Gardens hosted the event. With the recently

completed renovations and addition to the conservatory, it was a special treat to have our event in such an elegant setting. Speaking of elegant… Berry Elegant provided the most amazing chocolate dipped, decorated and arranged berries that you could imagine. Thank you Kathy! That’s only the beginning. Portland Catering Company set out a huge spread of delicious food for everyone to enjoy. The presentation of the food was beautiful.

Then it was time to get down to business. Our guest speaker was Alex from Total Market Exposure. He shared with us great information on how we can optimize our websites, track trends in the market, reach clients and stand out from the rest. It was an informative presentation. If you missed it, they are offering FREE consultations and special pricing to NW Wed Pro’s right now.

After everyone in the room had the opportunity to stand and introduced themselves, we had THREE door prize drawings. Two lucky winners went home with $20 bills and one lucky winner took home a gift basket of Berry Elegant desserts!

Aurora Colony Vineyards requested that the next meeting be held at their venue so it was agreed that we will meet next on Tuesday, August 9th at 6:30pm in Aurora. We look forward to seeing their vineyard setting, chapel and grounds.

Portland Catering Company announced that they are offering a FREE wedding venue to couples who lost their wedding venue & deposits to the View Point Inn fire. Please spread the word.

Reminder: 1. Send me notice of upcoming EVENTS so that they can be posted on NW Wed Pro Events page. 2. LIKE NW Wed Pro and each other’s Business’ on Facebook. 3. Refer every bride contact to NW Wed Pro vendors and website. 4. Be the BEST at what you do!

Thank you Atkinson Memorial Church for providing the venue for our meeting. Your chapel, stained glass windows, dome and balcony are so beautiful!

Thank you Two Girls Catering for the delicious raviolis, salad, cupc

akes and strawberry lemonade. It was so good!

Thank you Rob Patton of Enter the Net for teaching us so much about Social Networking our businesses on Facebook. It was very informative and helpful.

Please be sure to post a link to your business Fan Page on our NW Wed Pro Facebook page. We should all be connected.

Plenty of dollar bills were handed out in the referral money game. It was great to hear about so many referrals that were given and received among the members during the last month. Keep up the good work.

Be sure to make good use of all of those business cards you received at the meeting.

· Put them in a business card portfolio to have on hand at all times.

· Add vendors to your “links” page on your website.

· Find them on Facebook.

· Share your blog with them.

· Pass them on to brides that you meet with.

All new vendors that attended last night’s networking meeting have been added to the Vendor website at www.nwwedpro.com. Everyone should make sure their links and information are correct. Also, for your convenience, I have listed below the name and link of every person at the meeting last night in case you met someone but can’t remember a name.

Do you have suggestions for guest speakers or topics? Please email your suggestions. Do you know of a venue that would host a future meeting? Are you involved in an upcoming event or fair? Email me the info so it can be added to NW Wed pro Events Page and shared on Facebook.

In July we will be meeting on the 13th which is a Wednesday. The location is not verified yet. You will be informed as soon as the location is determined. It looks like we may be getting treated to delicious food from Portland Catering company and dessert of Gourmet Chocolate Dipped Strawberries by Berry Elegant!

Hello NW Wed Pro’s!!!

Can you believe that June is nearly upon us? Here we are with Wedding Season in full swing, and time is flying by.

It seems that some brides are booking vendors late for this summer. So if you still have dates open, don’t despair. Brides seem to be putting things off until the last minute. There are still many weddings out there for you to get in on. Now is the time to make sure your name is out there! Attend networking meetings, update your Facebook, get some new content on your website and publish a new Blog! Put yourself in front of the brides who are still looking!

A great place to be seen is at the next NWWP Network meeting! You will meet with fantastic wedding professionals. You will be fresh in their mind when they try to think of someone to refer their couples to. Also, you will get to view a great wedding venue and learn all there is to know about it so that you can better serve your clients. There will even be some delicious food to sample from one of the areas BEST catering companies!!!

NEXT MEETING:

Tuesday June 7th, 2011 6:30 – 8:30pm $15

Atkinson Church in Oregon City

710 6th St. Oregon City, OR

Our guest speaker will be Rob Patton of Enter the Net. He will introduce us to the Social Media Revolution! http://www.enterthenet.com/social-media-revolution/ Watch this video to get the facts.

Our featured vendor is none other than TWO GIRLS CATERING!

You won’t want to miss this opportunity to sample their delicious talents! Pasta, salad and their signature strawberry lemonade will be a perfect summer meal. I had the pleasure of sampling nearly 70 of their dishes last Sunday at their Tasting Event and everything was spectacular!

This is a meeting not to be missed. You MUST r.s.v.p. to attend.

And if you do RSVP but then find that you will not attend after all, Please be considerate and send an email removing yourself from the rsvp list.

Those that do not rsvp may attend and pay a $20 registration fee at the door.

Venues are still booking weddings for this summer. Now is a good time to be sure you have links on your website to all of your favorite wedding venues. Talk to venues about getting listed on their preferred vendor list. Offer to share something with them such as photos or flowers or a feature spot in a newsletter or Blog. Do so with other vendors also. Build your Network, form those business relationships and get your name out there. People remember random acts of kindness much more than a solicited offer. Be original or just be persistent. Never just sit and wait for business to come to you. You could be waiting a long time. Build a vendor page on your website if you don’t have one. Valid link exchanges help your Google ranking and also builds relationships with other vendors and venues.

I look forward to seeing you at the next meeting. Have a wonderful week!

Sincerely,

Beverly Mason The Radiant Touch Weddings
