NWWP at The Broetje House

Hello NW Wed Pro’s!

I hope that you are all having a wonderful weekend. The cooler temperature is perfect for our weddings this weekend!

Thank you to all of the people who attended Wednesday night’s meeting at The Broetje house. It was a very fun meeting. Here is a recap of the evening.

Lorraine, of The Broetje House, set up a beautiful space for us in the Conservatory. The A/C was greatly appreciated on that 90 degree day.

Our featured vendor tables were presented by Buenger Photography, His Bakery and Whiskey Creek Outfitters.
Buenger Photography displayed her talents in video, framed prints and also an incredible Italian crafted Wedding Album.
Whiskey Creek Outfitters couldn’t exactly bring the horse and carriage, but she displayed framed prints of her massive and beautiful black horse and the carriage. Some photos showed the bride sitting on the actual horse!
His Bakery provided us with samples of three different wedding cakes. These were delicious!

Food and beverages were provided this month by NWWP Network.

We opened the meeting with a discussion of building portfolio photo books. Portfolio’s are important for ALL vendor services. They are classy, elegant and sophisticated to show floral, cakes, venues and all other services. They are affordable and easy to make. In fact, Shutterfly and Photoworks are giving 20% off photo books. Give it a try! What have you got to lose?

The money game “It Pays To Be a NW Wed Pro” paid out a lot of dollar bills to anyone who gave a referral to someone in the group and to anyone who brought a guest to the group.

Our door prize winner was Mel O’Brien of Absolutely Only Photography. He won a leather bound planner. Congratulations Mel!

Rob Patton of “Enter The Net” spoke to the group on SEO (search engine optimization) and answered questions to everyone.
George of Awesome Wines brought his 1927 Chevrolet for us to view. He offers it for weddings, receptions and photo shoots.

After round robin introductions were done, we had plenty of time to visit with each other, exchange cards and information and also stroll the beautiful grounds around The Broetje House.

Thank you to the following people who made it an exceptional event!

Floral Sunshine, His Bakery, Buenger Photography, Awesome Wines Co, Lyneil Vandermolen, Noryne Robinson, Whiskey Creek Outfitters, Notes of Celebration, Kelcema Productions, Sara Gray Photography, Paradise Photography, Tiny Impressions Photography, Heather Scott Photographic, Snapdragon Studio flowers, Fliptography, Seriouscake.com, Absolutely Only Photography, Duo con Brio, Enter The Net, The Broetje House, The Radiant Touch.
Our next meeting is on a Monday. September 14, 2009 6pm-8pm at Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom

If you’d like to attend or be a featured vendor, please rsvp by emailing to radianttouch@ccwebster.net

In October we meet on Wed. October 14, 2009 6pm-8pm at Holy Names Heritage Center in Lake Oswego.

The next few months is when most vendors are holding consultations and bookings for Summer 2010. Be sure to refer every bride to NW Wed Pro for all of their other needs. Attend the monthly meetings so that your company is sure to be listed on NW Wed Pro.

I look forward to seeing in Oregon City in September!

NW Wed Pro's for Brides & Grooms

Happy Monday to all of you NW Wedding Pro’s!

I’d say the hot August weather is definitely back! We had some pretty comfortable temperatures for this weekend’s weddings, didn’t we?

I had the privilege of performing weddings at The Aerie at Eagle Landing, Union Hills, Canby Flower Farmers and also the historic Kelty House. All of them were beautiful locations with very friendly staff and owners.

Only 2 days left until the next NWWP NW Wed Pro meeting.

It’s not too late to rsvp if you haven’t already. There has been one change to the meeting agenda. Portland Wedding Workbook had to cancel due to being called out of town this week. They will be having a wedding event in the near future, details to come.

The NWWP Network met this month at the beautiful wedding venue, Cedar Springs Country Estate in Sandy, OR. This is a magnificent venue that can accommodate large weddings. With a beautiful setting, pond, gazebo, terraces, ample parking, unique buildings and more, it was the perfect setting for our meeting on a 90 degree day.

Duo con Brio played the most soothing and relaxing music during registration and networking time. Corey & Jim are such talented live musicians.
Sun Connections Travel provided us with extra door prize give a ways. Thank You!

After having time to register, eat and listen to music, we got down to business. I shared with the group tips on free website links, how to close the deal at consultations and shared information about upcoming events.

After that, Featured vendors introduced themselves, each wedding pro was given introduction time. Then we had FIVE door prize drawings, including a free nights stay in the Cedar Springs Tree House! (This is no ordinary tree house)

NWWP Network meetings of the NW Wed Pro's

Hello to all of you NW Wed Pro’s! Have you survived the weekend so far? I hope that you are all swamped with weddings.
I had the most wonderful weekend working with some of the best wedding professionals in the area. I want to share with you some of the highlights.

Thursday evening I had the pleasure of performing a wedding at Bell Tower Chapel in Boring, Oregon. It was an outdoor ceremony in extreme heat but the huge, ancient oak tree provide shade to 100 people. The bride looked absolutely stunning, thanks to the work of hair and make-up artist Amanda Florio Everly of Pretty In Portland. The bride was also extremely happy with the cake that Melissa of Sweet Cakes created from the design and fabric swatches that the bride had provided her with. I also got to tasted the wonderful BBQ feast provided by Smokin Jim’s Bar-B-Que. Yummy. DJ services by Steve Strain of Rose City Mobile music kept everyone entertained.

Friday evening I had the honor of performing at The Bell Tower chapel yet again. This ceremony was held indoors and we were all very appreciative of the NEW air conditioning system that had recently been installed.

Saturday morning I was happy to perform at the Oaks Pioneer Church and have a chance to see the wonderful ladies that coordinate the venue.

Saturday afternoon was The Best Wedding Ever! It was my first time at The Holy Names Heritage Center in Lake Oswego. What a fantastic venue! The layout is perfect. I was also very happy to arrive and see the van from SeriousCake.com! I had just met Seri at our last networking meeting and now I got to see her in action. The cake was beautiful and it was no easy task in this hot weather. The best part was the groom’s cake. She created from sugar, a bow tie wearing- penguin band, complete with instruments and everything, to top the cake. (the groom is a musician and composer). Everyone praised the floral arrangements provided by Jennifer at Forte Floral. The bride and groom thanked me profusely for referring Jennifer to them. They loved her! The table centerpiece arrangements and the cocktail room centerpiece were simply amazing! I also had the pleasure of meeting Sue of Purple Iris Weddings as coordinator and planner, the DJ from Taylor Events, Jonathan of Voila Catering and Chris of CL Steele photography. Everyone worked so well together that the event ran perfectly smooth. Great job everyone!

Kudos to all of the wedding pro’s that I worked with this weekend. Your hard work and great service made the wedding couple’s Dream Wedding Day come true!

I hope to see everyone at the next NWWP Networking meeting in August on the 19th at The Broetje House in Milwaukie. We have three featured vendors lined up already so we only have room for one more. Any caterers or wineries want to snatch it up??? We all LOVE what YOU bring! J

I’m working on getting us a great guest speaker too for the educational portion of the night.
Don’t forget to r.s.v.p. August NWWP meeting if you are planning to attend.
Thanks! Have a great week.
