Hello NW Wed Pro’s!

Thank you again to all of you who were able to attend the networking event last Wednesday, July 20th. It was our biggest turnout ever. For those that couldn’t make it, I will recap the event.

The Ainsworth House & Gardens

NWWP Network provided complimentary wine for the evening, but didn’t have a server. Thankfully Shannon of GG’s Deli & Catering volunteered to be the server for the evening. She must have poured at least 10 bottles of wine! And what better way to mingle and eat than be accompanied by the melodious sounds of Notes of Celebration?! Linda Smith played the piano in the Fireplace room during the cocktail hour.Gardens hosted the event. With the recently

completed renovations and addition to the conservatory, it was a special treat to have our event in such an elegant setting. Speaking of elegant… Berry Elegant provided the most amazing chocolate dipped, decorated and arranged berries that you could imagine. Thank you Kathy! That’s only the beginning. Portland Catering Company set out a huge spread of delicious food for everyone to enjoy. The presentation of the food was beautiful.

Then it was time to get down to business. Our guest speaker was Alex from Total Market Exposure. He shared with us great information on how we can optimize our websites, track trends in the market, reach clients and stand out from the rest. It was an informative presentation. If you missed it, they are offering FREE consultations and special pricing to NW Wed Pro’s right now.

After everyone in the room had the opportunity to stand and introduced themselves, we had THREE door prize drawings. Two lucky winners went home with $20 bills and one lucky winner took home a gift basket of Berry Elegant desserts!

Aurora Colony Vineyards requested that the next meeting be held at their venue so it was agreed that we will meet next on Tuesday, August 9th at 6:30pm in Aurora. We look forward to seeing their vineyard setting, chapel and grounds.

Portland Catering Company announced that they are offering a FREE wedding venue to couples who lost their wedding venue & deposits to the View Point Inn fire. Please spread the word.

Reminder: 1. Send me notice of upcoming EVENTS so that they can be posted on NW Wed Pro Events page. 2. LIKE NW Wed Pro and each other’s Business’ on Facebook. 3. Refer every bride contact to NW Wed Pro vendors and website. 4. Be the BEST at what you do!

NW Wed Pro Bridal Fair a HUGE success

What a great event! The first bi-annual NW Wed Pro Bridal Fair was a huge success! We had hundreds of brides visit us at the beautiful Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby, Oregon on February 6th & 7th 2010.

The displays were beautiful. The fashion shows amazing and the live musicians performed great music by Duo con Brio, Notes of Celebration and Misha Rubic. Willamette Valley CC provided food all day long and St. Josef's Winery offered wine tasting. Portland Wedding Workbook sold out on their wedding workbooks at the registration table. Hundreds of dollars were raised for the Clackamas Women's Services Charitable organization.

Fashion shows featured the services of Magnifique Boutique, Divismo Jewelry, Flowers by Floral Sunshine and Punch Floral, hair styles by Pretty In Portland and Heidi's Hair Design, makeup by Luminary Esthetics and Pretty In Portland, photography by Absolutely Only, SG Photography, Buenger Photography and Paradise Photography. Modeling by Amanda Hilton & Misha Rubic.

"How-to" demonstrations were presented by Purple Iris Weddings and Sweet Dreams Bridal Consultants. Cake tastings from White Rose Bakery and SeriousCake.com were delicious. Other featured vendors were CS Country Weddings with Cear Springs Estate, Forever In Stone, Minute Man Press Oregon City wedding Invitations, The Aussie DJ, Sun Connections Travel, A Perfect Ceremony, Adventure Weddings, Canby Pioneer Chapel and Angelina's Day Spa, The Radiant Touch Weddings and Asparro Video Productions.

The event was MC'd by Big Screen Presentation who also provided music throughout the show.
Don't miss our next Bridal Fair in the FALL October 16th & 17th, 2010 at the Clackamas County Event Center! It will be bigger and better still.

September 2009 NWWP Network

Hello NW Wedding Professionals!

Another month of 2009 wedding season has come and gone. August was a crazy month, wasn’t it? For some reason though, 2009 season seems to go right up through the end of September and into October this year. Keeping my fingers crossed for plenty more good weather. It was certainly a bit dicey this weekend. Torrential downpours and outdoor weddings keep everyone hopping.

August weddings took me to some of the most wonderful wedding venues and introduced me to so many wedding professionals. As mentioned in an earlier email, I was at The Royal Oaks Country Club, The Ainsworth House, The Aerie at Eagle landing, Canby Flower Farm, The Kelty House and The Broetje House. Every venue was very professional, courteous and beautiful.

August 22nd took me back up to Washington again for a wedding at The Fairgate Inn. Seeing the word “Inn” and “B&B” always brings to mind visions of quaint, small and cozy. Well, this place is certainly NOT that. The Fairgate Inn is the most grand estate I’ve ever seen. It looks like The White House in Washington DC! It is so elegant, spacious, and perfect for weddings. The banquet room is very large, the outdoor garden is perfect for the ceremony and the staff is wonderful. It was great working with Mike Moore of Big Screen presentations again as DJ and MC.

That same day I had a wedding at Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby. Another very nice venue in Clackamas County in a beautiful wooded setting, surrounded by a golf course. Rick, of Shadow Master photography did a wonderful job of capturing every moment. Shane, of Hurricane DJ provided music for the entire event.

Ok, I could go on and on about all of the wonderful venues and vendors but there are just too many to mention. So, just one last shout out to Anthony Wedin of Sound Choice entertainment for a wonderful job done at Edgefield, to Jonathan of Voila Catering (incredible food as usual) and to Amanda of Pretty in Portland. Thank you all for providing wonderful service at weddings this month. Great working with you all again.

Now on to new business. The next NW Wed Pro NWWP Network meeting is less than one week away! It is on a Monday this time.

Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom

Please RSVP so that the venue can prepare the room to meet our needs.

There are TWO featured vendor tables still available.

Now is the time to be networking and building your referrals with other professionals. We are all busy booking for 2010 and can be giving our brides some great referrals for all of their wedding needs.

Looking forward to seeing you next week! Invite other professionals that you meet too!

NW Wed Pro's for Brides & Grooms

Happy Monday to all of you NW Wedding Pro’s!

I’d say the hot August weather is definitely back! We had some pretty comfortable temperatures for this weekend’s weddings, didn’t we?

I had the privilege of performing weddings at The Aerie at Eagle Landing, Union Hills, Canby Flower Farmers and also the historic Kelty House. All of them were beautiful locations with very friendly staff and owners.

Only 2 days left until the next NWWP NW Wed Pro meeting.
Wednesday, August 19th, 2009 6:00pm – 8:00pm at The Broetje House

It’s not too late to rsvp if you haven’t already. There has been one change to the meeting agenda. Portland Wedding Workbook had to cancel due to being called out of town this week. They will be having a wedding event in the near future, details to come.

On another note: NW Wed Pro email letters, such as this, are now being posted on a Blog! No more searching your old emails trying to find it, now you can find it on the Blog. Just bookmark it. Also, I hope that you all will become “followers” of the Blog by simply clicking on “follow this Blog”. It helps our search status, it gets you seen, it connects us all and it builds the network.
