NW Wed Pro had its first Workshop for members. It was February 20^th, hosted by The Tumwater Room and coordinated by Scott & Nina Roberts. We had a great turnout. Everyone brought their own laptops and we all worked together learning and perfecting our Social Media skills. We worked on Facebook Business pages, Pinterest and how to add icons and links between our social media pages, website and blogs. Future workshops will be announced as they get planned.

Tigard Wine Crafters – Excellent Wine and such a FUN experience. Being able to craft your own wines, customize labels and have fun doing it is such a great business concept!

Michelle Brubaker – You gave us a LOT of great information and tips to help us improve our Web Empires! Your workshops that you offer are Excellent!

Two new members officially joined NW Wed Pro at the meeting. Welcome Amber Hempen Photography and Classic Vintage Rentals.

On Thursday, Five NW Wed Pro’s attended the Hubbard Chapel vendor open house. It was nice meeting many other vendors from the Woodburn, Aurora, Hubbard and Salem area.

Next Saturday, March 23rd, NW Wed Pro member, The Tumwater Room is holding an OPEN HOUSE. Come out to see this beautiful venue in Oregon City overlooking the majestic Willamette Falls. Many NW Wed Pro vendors will be on display and there will be great food and fun! Share this event with your brides and wedding networks. Coming Up:

Stay tuned for an announcement regarding the next NW Wed Pro Members Educational Workshop. Scott & Nina are working on getting a date set and a venue for it. The last one was a huge success and we are looking forward to doing it again. Everyone brought their laptops and we worked together to apply many of the tips we hear about but aren’t sure how to actually do it! This was a great opportunity to get hands on training.

Be sure to attend the Wedding Vendor Open House April 18th from 6:00 – 9:00 pm at The Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom in Oregon City. With great food and beverages from Portland Catering Company, this will be a fantastic event.

Weddings on the Hill

NW Wed Pro Networking Association will be meeting at Weddings on the Hill in West Linn.
This is at the Unity Center on Willamette Drive / Highway 43.

This will be a fantastic networking meeting. The line up will include:

• Two Chicks & A Rooster Catering Co.
• Tigard Wine Crafters
• Michelle Brubaker - guest educational Marketing speaker

Weddings on the Hill is a little known secret of a wedding venue. It features a beautiful outdoor ceremony setting, indoor ceremony / reception hall, recreation rooms and parlor, 2 kitchens and 2 parking lots. Endless photo opportunities on the grounds and also across the road in Mary S Young Park.

NW Wed Pros will meet for an evening of networking, learning, dining and connecting. Most have never been to Weddings on the Hill and they will be in for a real treat.

Networking group at Sah-Hah-Lee Golf Course

Hello NW Wed Pro!

Spring is on its way. I love those days where it is sunny and beautiful one minute then a sudden downpour the next. Five minutes later it’s sunny again.





Last week we all enjoyed some of that spring-like weather at Sah-Hah-Lee Wedding & Events pavilion for the monthly NW Wed Pro Networking Event. Before the sun went down completely we were able to view the beautiful patio, balcony, driving range and putt-putt golf course. The evening was a success with the help of Barclay Events (beautiful table linens and décor), Bistro Catering (delicious dinner buffet), Wicked Delights Bakery (Valentine themed dessert bar) and Propel Businessworks (Jamie Teasdale guest speaker). 

This meeting was a wonderful opportunity to meet and talk with the owners and representatives of these companies. We learned of the golf course’s family history and also how versatile a venue it is for weddings and events. The owners, Steve & Tracy Lisac, are fun, friendly and hospitable. (they even hosted the wine bar for the evening) One lucky winner of the door prize walked out with FREE GOLF!

Jamie Teasdale gave us a very helpful presentation on Branding, Social Media, Custom Apps and connecting all of our medias together. Many of our members have already signed up with Propel Businessworks to handle much of that for them. Contact Jamie at Jamie@propelbizworks.com to discuss your business needs.



 Our 2013 membership just keeps on growing. At the meeting we had 3 more businesses sign up and one more came in the mail. Welcome Portland Catering Company, Pacific Crest Grand Ballroom, A Beautiful Ceremony and Born 2 Dance Productions to the NW Wed Pro family. We currently have 43 wedding and event companies in NW Wed Pro.

2013 NW Wed Pro Announcements

Hello NW Wed Pro! 

Thank you ALL for the wonderful support of a newly RE-OPENING wedding venue in Clackamas County.  The East Fork Country Estate was overwhelmed with the support they received from NW Wed Pro’s at the January 16^th networking event.  Our fabulous members have offered photos, link exchanges, web support, inspiration shoots and much more to help them begin their journey into the 2013 and Beyond Wedding Season.

It was a great meeting. With 32 wedding venues and vendors in attendance, we enjoyed delicious food provided by Chef du Jour Catering (thank you Eric Youel) and yummy desserts by Cookies, Cupcakes & More. (thank you Barb & Rick Nischalke) We also had plenty of wine, compliments of Radiant Touch Weddings.

The winner of the $20 CASH door prize was Eric Youel of Chef du Jour Catering. (no, it wasn’t fixed, but he was most deserving!) 

Recap of recent Bridal Show participation was discussed and ideas shared for future events. Information was shared about websites, networking, mobile sites and promotions. Thank you Craig of High Fidelity Entertainment for sharing your knowledge with us. AA Events will host Open House February 8th at their Wedding Chapel and Showroom.

If you haven’t worked a wedding at East Fork Country Estate in the past, please make sure you visit this venue. It has beautiful gardens, patios, gazebo, Mt. Hood view, surrounding farm country, lots of parking, indoor space, covered space, full kitchen and much more. NW Wed Pro is honored to have Grady & Diana Abernathy (owners of East Fork) as our newest MEMBER. 

Speaking of members. TWELVE more wedding professionals got their MEMBERSHIP form turned in at the meeting, saving them 40% OFF the annual membership fee.

REMINDER: Check your Facebook business page ABOUT section. Edit it by writing full page descriptions, services and specialties in all of the boxes provided. Use lots of pertinent keywords. Make sure your website address is listed. Adding a physical address connects it to MAPS.

On your personal page, make sure your Business/Work info is a direct link to your actual Facebook Business page.

Have you obtained your Custom Username yet or does your business page still have lots of numbers after the name in the URL? It’s easy and a MUST to get your Custom user name.
